Western societies are rapidly evolving, with transformational changes affecting how businesses and brands reflect increased diversity and social issues. With our roots in the sport sector, we want to share our learnings and knowledge to help other sectors and industries meaningfully engage with diversity and inclusion.

The Diversity Storr offers diversity and inclusion consultancy and training, with a focus on using evidence-based research and data to drive and inform organisational practices and outcomes.

Welcome to the Diversity Storr.

We are here to help organizations meaningfully engage with issues around diversity and inclusion. Research identifies that many organisations would like to engage with issues around diversity and inclusion, and key social issues affecting communities across Australia. However, often they feel ill-equipped, apprehensive, and lack the specific skillset and knowledge to execute a diversity strategy, or engage with complex social issues such as sexuality, gender, and culture. Key social issues affecting Australian society has meant diversity and inclusion related topics have made their way into national conversations, from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander rights, to gender equality and the #metoo movement, to the advancement of LGBTIQ+ equalities. Let The Diversity Storr help you navigate and engage with such topics, in order to advance social change and help create socially conscious and inclusive organisations, businesses, and brands.

Founded by Dr Ryan Storr, The Diversity Storr was created to help organisations meaningfully engage with issues around diversity and inclusion. Ryan’s early work involved working with sports organisations, businesses, and professional clubs, to engage with and enact LGBTIQ+ inclusion, specifically policies, programs, and processes. Ryan has a background in academia and as an expert in diversity and inclusion within sport and movement settings, and in recent years has been a leading voice around LGBTIQ+ inclusion in Australian sport.

Foundational to this work is evidence-based research to drive decision making and evidence-based practice. His research has informed a range of both Federal and State based inclusion policies, in addition to multiple inclusion and education programs across Australia.

A key observation he noticed in his work however, was that organisations did not have a broader diversity strategy, or a complete and comprehensive understanding of why the diversity programs or policies were needed in the first place. His research has consistently found that those in positions of leadership and senior administration, lack understanding around concepts related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Although many may see and value and the need to take action – they lack the tools and education to successfully engage and enact their policies and strategies. Consultants at The Diversity Storr can guide you through the process and support you every step of the way on your diversity and inclusion journey. Take the step today and start your journey with the Diversity Storr. Whether you are a business, organisations, or brand, looking to start your journey, help along the way, or to partner on an initiative or program, please get in touch.
